Connecting Californians with Vision Plans

The Sacramento Business Journal recently reported that Covered California is accepting proposals from vision plans that wish to offer coverage to exchange customers. While Covered California will not sell vision coverage directly on the exchange, it will offer links to the websites of different plans. 

VSP Global President and CEO Jim McGrann said in a news release, “Providing access to vision care coverage through Covered California is a step in the right direction to help close the gap in access to eye care and ensure that all Californians receive the best preventive health care possible.”

Adult vision care is currently not considered an essential benefit under the Affordable Care Act.
