AOA Congressional Conference

California was well represented at AOA's Congressional Advocacy Conference on April 18-19 in Washington DC. Doctors and optometric students lobbied lawmakers in support of HR 3323 related to vision plan abuses, HR 1312 / S 898 about OD eligibility for National Health Service Corps programs and HR 1688 regarding access by veterans to eye care. Thank you to those who attended - especially the doctors and students who flew from DC directly to Sacramento so they could attend COA Legislative Day the next day. With so many flights cancelled and delayed, these doctors went above and beyond the call of duty!
