Avoid Medicare Reimbursement Cuts – Participate in MIPS

If you participate in Medicare Part B, bill more than $30,000 annually to Medicare and see more than 100 Medicare patients in a year, beginning in 2019 your reimbursements could go up - or down - depending on the actions you take now. The COA Quality Payment Program Overview fact sheet details the steps you need to take as early as January 1, 2017, but no later than October 2, 2017, under the new Medicare Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) to gain a reimbursement increase of up to 9 percent and avoid a 4 percent cut in your reimbursements in 2019.
